Staff Profile

Hello families!! My name is Emma Mann and this is my 4th year teaching at The Heights Community School. I taught 2nd grade for two years and this is my 2nd year teaching 1st grade.

I LOVE working with 1st graders and watching them grow throughout the year. I am passionate about making my classroom a fun, creative, and loving working community where everyone feels safe to be themselves as we learn and play together. 

Some of my favorite things:
The color GREEN! Anything green. I love lots of colors, but all shades of green are my favorite.

Nature! I especially love the seasons spring and fall. I love to hike and be by any body of water.

Music! I love live music. My favorite way to relieve stress is by going to a concert. I love to incorporate lots of songs and dances into our classroom to keep our bodies moving and engaged.

Reading! I am very passionate about reading. I LOVE reading books with students and gettings kids excited about stories. I am in a book club with my friends that I really enjoy!

Eating! I love coffee and most foods. I love vegetables and fruits. My favorite fruit is mango. I love anything chocolate! I am still working on liking spicy foods, but I get better every year!
